Offshore oil and gas marine services specialist, Bourbon, has ordered a 150 tonne active heave-compensated (AHC) subsea MacGregor crane.

The crane will be delivered in August 2014. It will be used on a Bourbon Evolution 800 multi-purpose support vessel under construction at Zhejiang Shipyard in China, the company said. The vessel will be able to operate at a depth of 3,000 metres.

Frode Grøvan, MacGregor Advanced Load Handling sales and marketing director, said, "Ongoing experience of MacGregor's offshore cranes and Bourbon shared return on experience on previous order to MacGregor has played a significant role in Bourbon ordering another 150 tonne active heave-compensated subsea MacGregor crane.”
