Briggs & Stratton has partnered with Scott Industrial Systems to deliver a complete e-drive solution.

Scott will combine the commercial lithium-ion battery pack from Vanguard, a subsidiary of Briggs & Stratton, with its own expertise in hydraulics, pneumatics and electronic control systems to expand the fluid power distributor’s electrified offerings.

Described as ‘the only fully integrated, complete battery solution on the market’, the Vanguard lithium-ion battery pack line includes 3.8, 5.0 and 10.0 kWh power options. Combining a pack, battery management system and charger, the system can be linked in parallel for more power.

“By partnering with Vanguard to offer the commercial lithium-ion battery pack, it allows Scott as a fluid power distributor to maximize our software and controls solution. It also expands our technology offerings with a new capability in electric power,” said Kevin Smith, vice president of sales at Scott Industrial.

Smith continued: “With electric power, we can now provide a whole system solution to help our customers meet sustainability goals by migrating conventional fuel to electric.”

Scott puts forward that using electric power will eliminate the need for customers to manage and store fuel onsite. It will also simplify maintenance and create a safer working environment. The system should also help reduce any related environmental impact by eliminating engine exhaust.
