Brokk acquires Australian distributor

16 December 2009

Demolition robot manufacturer Brokk has strengthened its presence in Australia through the acquisition of Kiwi Operations Downunder Pty Ltd, its Australian dealer, with effect from January 1, 2010.

The two companies have worked together over the last few years. This acquisition means that Brokk now operates six subsidiaries around the world.

The acquisition is intended to allow Brokk to better support its customers in Australia and New Zealand – some 100 machines are operating in the region - and is a long-term investment for a stronger presence in the area.

The operation will be based from the same facility in Adelaide, with Kiwi staff transferring to a new company, Brokk Australia Pty.

Jonas Stahlbage, Brokk’s regional manager Asia Pacific and recently appointed managing director of Brokk Australia, said of the acquisition: “Strategically this is an important step towards a stronger presence in the Asia-Pacific region, a region which has become a very important market for Brokk.

"Setting up our own subsidiary will show our customers a strong commitment to the Australian market to assure them that they have a local long term partner.”
