Cable speeds accelerate

Three new series of cable trolleys for STS container cranes and high-capacity process cranes are available from Wampfler AG.

The technology for flat and round cables is designed for loop weights between 350 and 800 kg and allows trolley speeds up to 300 m/min.

According to the Germany-based company, the optimised running gear design with point-symmetric arrangement of the main roller considerably improves the travelling behavior o f the cable trolleys.

”The future has already started, since today the usual main trolley speed of modern container cranes does not exceed 250 m/minute,” said Dietmar Haag, product manager for festoon systems at Wampfler.
