Call for entries for SC&RA Annual Awards

Applications are being accepted for the SC&RA Annual Awards. The awards will be presented during the SC&RA Annual Conference, 2 to 6 April 2013, at the Westin Kierland, Scottsdale, Arizona, USA.

Opportunities include:

• Rigging Job of the Year - to recognise companies that meet professional challenges encountered in rigging. Awards will be presented in three categories: over US$750,000, between $150,000 and $750,000, and under $150,000.

• Hauling Job of the Year - for projects that epitomise how companies meet professional challenges encountered in specialized transport. Awards will be presented in three categories - Moving, Trucking Job over 160,000 pounds (net), and Trucking Job under 160,000 pounds (net).

• The Million Miler Safety Award - to drivers from member companies who accumulated at least one million consecutive miles of safe driving.

• A Golden Achievement Award - to the individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the specialised transportation, crane or rigging industry; this award is not presented every year.

• Crane & Rigging Safety Awards - to companies meeting the maximum criteria established for Incident Rates and Workers’ Compensation Modification. Crane & Rigging companies also may qualify for a Zero Accident Award.

• Crane and rigging companies who have improved their record over the prior year are eligible for the Safety Improvement Award.

• Crane Operator Safety Award - to operators who exhibit exemplary work achievements, accumulating 10,000 consecutive man hours while recording zero accidents or incidents (these are not presented at the AC).

• Fleet Safety Awards - to seven companies, based on accident frequency rates for different mileage categories. Awards also go to fleets for Zero Recordable Accidents. Fleets that have improved their record over the prior year are eligible for Safety Improvement Awards.

• Environmental Award to a company that has made outstanding contributions to environmental protection.
