Construction sales rise at Eiffage

Eiffage has recorded group revenues of €2.99 billion for the first quarter of 2016, representing a decrease of 1.7% from the same period a year ago.

The French company said the fall in its group revenues was due to a sales decline in its contracting sector of 3.5% year-on-year.

The company’s construction sector, however, saw an increase in its revenues of 2.9% to €812 million, compared to the first quarter of 2015.

In France, construction sales were recorded at €654 million for the first quarter, which is an increase of 0.6%. Construction sales for the rest of Europe grew 13.7% to €158 million.

The company said its order intake ended the first quarter very strongly in the French provinces.

Looking ahead, Eiffage said it expected a slight decline in its sales for 2016, despite seeing an increase in its order book of 0.3% year-on-year.
