Cramo in Denmark has won an extension until the end of 2017 of its rental agreement with the Herlev hospital, securing work valued at around €11 million. As part of the deal Herlev has bought 45 Cramo site huts previously rented to the hospital.

Herlev is one of the largest hospitals in Denmark and is undergoing a major renovation and enlargement by 2012. Portable accommodation units will be used as hospital wards as well as receptions, clinics, research laboratories, radiotherapy and hotel facilities.

Cramo's chief executive officer, Vesa Koivula, said; "The magnitude of the order, and the complexities involved provides an excellent platform to develop our unique competence in this rapidly growing area further".

In addition to the accommodation units, the rental agreement includes maintenance, alarm systems and facility management services.

"We are very proud to have the capacity and know-how to deliver such specialised solutions", said Ole Wamsler, managing director of Cramo A/S, Denmark.
