Crane-independent and safe

Currently under construction near Seattle, the Bellevue Towers residential project comprises two 137 m high towers with 42 and 43 fl oors respectively. Externally, the complex's most striking feature will be its elegant glass façade, which will allow the occupiers fantastic views of Seattle, Lake Washington, the Olympic Mountains, the Cascade Mountain Range and the Mount Rainier National Park.

The concrete shell should be ready in early 2008 and residents can begin moving into the apartments in the autumn. Hoffman Construction has used Peri's ACS and RCS climbing formwork systems, along with its Vario wall formwork and SkyDeck slab formwork system to fi nish each complete fl oor in just six days.

The stringent system-related safety levels, and complete enclosure of the upper storeys, means construction work has been carried out extremely safely, said project manager Camerun Davis and superintendent James McKee. The result is fast cycle times and not one single accident to date.
