UK crane rental, sales and service company Crowland Cranes has added a second Liebherr LTM 1060-3.1 to its fleet. This follows its purchase of its first Liebherr crane last year, an LTC 1050-3.1 compact mobile and a LTM 1060-3.1. The new all terrain will be based at the company’s Bury St Edmunds operation.

According to Liebherr, in the UK the LTM 1060-3.1 can travel with all 12.8 tonnes of counterweight and a double fly jib and remain within STGO regulations. Crowland Cranes specified its latest purchase with a fly jib and an engine shutdown system which, Liebherr says, includes over speed protection, for operation in petroleum, gas or chemical industry applications.

Liebherr says that the LTC 1050-3.1's compact three-axle chassis with six-wheel steering and a five-section main boom that provides a maximum operating height of 48 metres, make it popular with customers.

Peter Issitt, Crowland Cranes managing director, said "After the proven success and reliability of our first LTM 1060-3.1, operating from our Peterborough depot, the second was a simple choice when looking at our fleet replacement programme for our Bury St Edmunds depot. With this location now operating a full range of cranes from 8 to 220 tonnes, the new LTM1060-3.1 is a welcome addition to the area."
