A cordless drill powers the new Curet pipe cutter, which increases both productivity and quality when cutting polyethylene pipe up to 630 mm in diameter, says its manufacturer Cutting Edge Technology Ltd in Exeter, Devon, UK. The device, invented by the firm's CEO Ben Shepherd (pictured) makes a 90-degree double-sided chamfer cut ‘in situ’ every time, enabling watertight joints in pressurised water and gas piping. It works with 300 W drills and above and has a list price of about €2000.
