Netherlands based Custers Hydraulica has introduced the Taurus 265-12.5E, which the company believes is the first fully electric truck-mounted aerial platform in the Netherlands: both the truck and the lift are battery driven.

The Taurus 265-12.5E offers a maximum working height of 12.5 m and a maximum outreach of 7.5 m, the maximum cage load of 265 kg means that there is capacity on the platform for plenty of tools and materials.

Custers expects the Taurus 265-12.5E to prove popular for carrying out road work such as traffic-light repairs.

The platform is mounted on a 10 t chassis and the machine can be charged up overnight. On one charge the truck has a cruising range of 100m and the boom uses biodegradable hydraulic oil, which further reduces the environmental impact of the lift.

Access International is awaiting more information on this new machine which the company says is the first in a range of electric models.
