D day for Embassy Demolition
04 April 2014
Volvo has supplied Edmonton, UK, based contractor Embassy Demolition with four new EC220D excavators along with a EC480D with a Kocurek produced 26 m (85.3 ft) high reach boom with a forward reach of 14 m (45.9 ft) that can carry a 2.5 tonne tool at full height. This machine replaces an EC460B based high reach and is fitted with Kocurek’s modular joint on the boom to allow quick boom changes from high reach to standard dig equipment.
The EC220Ds have been equipped with FOGS guarding as well as additional third hydraulic service lines to handle a range of attachments, with a hammer and shear with quick fit hydraulics provided as standard. According to Embassy Demolition managing director Jim O’Doherty: “Equipping the machines this way means we can gave full flexibility for the contracts we are undertaking, which can be anything from demolition to muck shifting, material or waste handling.”
All of Embassy’s Volvo machines are covered by Volvo Blue Customer support agreements that see all the machines serviced and maintained by qualified Volvo service engineers, including regular inspections, oil sampling and analysis, and comprehensive proactive reports to maximise machine productivity, with the goal of ensuring good residual values.
Embassy Demolition, a long standing member of the UK’s NFDC, specialises on providing demolition and recycling solutions for projects covering Greater London and the Home Counties.
