Deconstruct UK wins London contract

28 August 2014

An enabling works contract at Watergate House in London, UK, worth £1.2 million (US$2 million) has been awarded to Deconstruct UK. Part of the DE Group, Deconstruct will carry out soft strip, demolition, piling and structural alterations on behalf of client Ignus UK Property Fund, who was advised by Paragon Building Consultancy Ltd. The work also includes the demoliton of an existing lift core and further relocation and construction of a new core. Work is expected to be completed by February 2015 after which the building will be fitted out to meet today’s market expectations to provide six floors of high end commercial office space.

Paul Ford, chairman of DE Group commented: “This is yet another great project for Deconstruct UK. Situated at the end of a narrow city centre road in close proximity to the Strand, the site is also adjacent to residential accommodation. Strict logistical planning twinned with considerate neighbourhood liaison will ensure minimal disruption to all surrounding stakeholders.”
