US equipment manufacturer John Deere showcased its new E140 LC excavator at Bauma China, which it said was yet to be in operation.
The company has put its new excavator through a testing process, while revealing it aimed to launch it next year.
Manish Kute, assistant general manager, John Deere, said the machine represented a new era for the company, which had never previously manufactured a machine of that size.
The 14 tonne E140 LC features a 4.5l engine, which was manufactured by its John Deere Power Systems division.
Kute said the machine would be launched for the Chinese market, but claimed the company could launch it in other markets, if successful.
He added that the engine delivered "best-in-class" fuel efficiency.
