A Ritchie Bros construction equipment auction scheduled to take place in Australia in June is to include over 90 items from Plant Hire Services following the end of a mining contract.

The auctioneer said that, after completing an eight-year contract carting concentrated ore from the Savannah nickel mine in Western Australia, Plant Hire Services was selling off its equipment.

"As part of our contract for the Savannah nickel mine we had to be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week—we did this for eight years," said Grant Young, joint owner of Plant Hire Services.

"Once the mine went into closure I could see I wasn't going to get enough work to justify keeping all my machinery. I already had a great relationship with Ritchie Bros. so I came to them to sell it all."

In total, over 800 items will be sold in total at the auction, including wheeled loaders, excavators, screening plants, rollers and trailers.
