Fairmount transport firm splits

Norway-based Fairmount Heavy Transport will become Fairstar Heavy Transport having parted company with one of its founders, deep sea towage specialist Fairmount Marine.

According to Lloyds List, the company said, “For some time the relationship between Fairmount Heavy Transport and Fairmount Marine has continued to deteriorate and after a careful assessment of the situation the supervisory board decided to completely separate its business activities from Fairmount Marine.”

The decision to end the relationship, reported Lloyds List, led Fairmount Heavy Transport to seek an independent corporate identity in Fairstar. Farmount Marine was acquired by Louis Dreyfus Armateurs in May. Lloyds List added that Fairstar had already appointed a new management team.
