The first Barin AB 20/S bucket-type underbridge inspection unit has been put into operation this month in Italy by rental company Venpa Sud.

Venpa Sud, based in the south of the country, invested in the bucket-type machine to complete its underbridge access equipment fleet.

The versatile and compact machine was assembled in Italy and mounted on Scania P410 E6LB 6x4 HNB truck chassis.

Like all Barin products, the new AB 20/S occupies one lane only, either in transport position and in work position, so that traffic flows in the other lane. The AB model can work both underbridge and overhead.

Features include a bridge barrier clearance of 4m, a sidewalk clearance of 3m, as well as a horizontal outreach underbridge of 20m and maximum vertical depth underbridge of 23.8m. Basket capacity is 300kg. Translation speed of the unit in work position is 12 m/min, while the unit’s GVW is 26 tons.

The equipment is fitted a range of accessories, including 10KVA generator set, air compressor, water and air lines from truck to the bucket, lighting system for night work, remote diagnostics and adjustment system.
