Genesis extends XT shear line-up

Genesis has added two new models to its XT range of mobile shears, the first two of which were launched at the bauma show in Munich in April this year. The new models are the GXT 445 and GXT 775, both of which are available as either straight or rotating versions.

The design behind the GXT series of tools makes them shorter in length and height and lighter in weight than previous tools, which means the centre of gravity is closer to the carrying machine. This allows their use on 21 to 35 tonne class carriers that previously could only mount a smaller, less powerful shear. The GXT range also features an apex, where most cutting is carried out, that is closer to the back of the jaws to improve material gathering and increasing cutting performance and efficiency while reducing maintenance.

According to Genesis director of business development David Palvere: “Interest in our new GXT mobile shears is high. Scrap processors and demolition contractors appreciate that the GXT fits on smaller carriers, reducing their initial acquisition and hourly energy consumption costs."

According to the company, the plan is for further models to be introduced, with the line offering tools for 10 to 114 tonne carriers when complete
