HCC partners with Orascom to place PPP bids for Indian roads

HCC Infrastructure, a subsidiary of the Hindustan Construction Company has signed an agreement with Orascom Construction Industries that will see the partnership bid for and develop large National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) PPP projects in the future.

Chairman and managing director of the Hindustan Construction Company Ajit Gulabchand said, "The Indian government has enhanced the pace of development of world class infrastructure for India and has chosen Public Private Partnerships as the main tool to implement this. In order to participate in this programme, HCC has chosen to partner with OCI, a company in which we find a wealth of expertise and commitment to create quality infrastructure."

Chief executive officer of Orascom Construction Industries, Nassef Sawiris said that HCC Infrastructure was one of India's leading developers investing in infrastructure assets and the partnership would benefit both Groups.

"Both HCC and OCI share the same commitment to quality and we look forward to exploring further opportunities with our new partner," he said.
