Hertz opens second location in Saudi Arabia

20 September 2013

Hertz Dayim Equipment Rental, Hertz Equipment Rental Corp’s joint venture in Saudi Arabia, has opened a rental location in Jeddah, its second in the country.

The 10000 m2 location will serve the country’s Western Province, focusing on customers in the petrochemical, oil and gas, government, military, construction, event services, industrial and emergency response sectors.

Hertz said the Western Province represents a strong growth opportunity due to heavy construction and industrialisation, with US$230 billion of projects underway or planned. The province includes Jeddah, Makkah, Medina and other cities.

HERC and Dayim Systems established their joint venture in 2010 and have been operating a rental depot at Damman since early 2011.

Lois Boyd, group president, HERC, said; “[The joint venture] is continuing its rapid growth across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in order to meet strong demand. The aim of our new Jeddah operations is to provide customers a first class, value-added equipment rental supplier in the Western Province of Saudi Arabia. The move also positions Hertz-Dayim for further strong growth opportunities in the region."

Chairman of Hertz Dayim Equipment Rental, HRH Prince Khalid bin Bandar bin Sultan, said the branch opening was a milestone in the expansion of the business and was well placed to cater to major jobs in the province; “This includes landmark projects such as the Jeddah, Makkah and Medina Metro, Kingdom Tower, the airport expansions and the economic cities.

“We will continue to expand and invest in this business to create a premier equipment rental company fully aligned with the needs of the industry in Saudi Arabia."

The Jeddah branch will stock earthmoving equipment, aerial platforms, material handling, power and compressors. Equipment brands at the location will include Atlas Copco, Case, Doosan, Genie, Himoinsa, JCB, JLG, Miller and Wacker Neuson.
