Hide and seek: Formwork sector moves into computer age with RFID tags

18 March 2008

Paschal's new identification technology, which uses an RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) tag, allows contractors to track any piece of equipment on site at any time. A handheld device scans the imbedded tag and displays its location either on its own screen or at a remote location.

This means every individual formwork element is given an individual identity, including not only its name, production location, age and weight, but all other items of important information, from usage figures to technical condition and present value, all at the push of a button.
