Grove dealer WA Truck &Machinery Repairs has delivered a new Grove GMK6220 to Pilbara Rail at Cape Lambert in Australia. The 220 tonne rated crane is the sixth Grove ordered by the company in the last three years, all of which are employed at the company's iron ore mining operation.

All of the cranes have to be modified before they are delivered, to help them cope with the stringent safety requirements and extremes of heat in which they work, with temperatures known to rise above 45 ºC. Large 6 kW air conditioners, additional oil coolers, and tinted windows are fitted to help cope with the heat, while additional hand rails, new fuel tanks, and carrier dipsticks at ground level are fitted to meet Pilbara's own safety requirements.Enquiries 331
