Huisman to build 1,600 tonne crane
01 April 2020
Dutch crane builder Huisman has signed a contract to build a 1,600 tonner for Penta-Ocean Construction.
It will be a leg-encircling crane for Penta-Ocean Construction’s new self-elevated platform (SEP). The SEP will be capable of installing offshore wind turbines up to 12 MW and their foundations, including monopiles. The vessel will operate in Japan and be certified under Japanese certification society ClassNK.
Huisman will build the crane at its factory in Xiamen, China, for installation on the SEP to be built by PaxOcean Engineering in Batam, Indonesia. Two years ago Huisman delivered an 800 tonne crane for Penta-Ocean’s CP8001 vessel.
