The podcast accompanying the April 2015 edition of International Construction includes a look at this year’s edition of the Yellow Table, iC’s annual survey of the world’s 50 largest construction equipment manufacturers.

In business, iC editor Chris Sleight and deputy editor Neill Barston look at the latest developments in the proposed merger between Holcim and Lafarge, which had been threatened by disquiet among Holcim shareholders.

This month’s site report comes from the huge Olympic complex being built in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. This 1.57 km2 city centre site is seeing a total of seven major venues being built along with various pieces of supporting infrastructure for a total contract value of US$ 5 billion.

Meanwhile, this month’s feature on earthmoving equipment looks at how manufacturers are looking to increase fuel efficiency and productivity in their machines as they move to Stage IV/Tier 4 Final emission engines, and how satellite and web-based technology is being enhanced to improve asset management.
