International Construction January-February podcast

09 February 2015

In the podcast to accompany the January-February edition, we discuss the annual International Construction Cost Report from Arcadis, which found that eight out of ten of the costliest countries to build in around the world are in Europe.

We also look at this month’s business news, and the spectacular fallout from Saint-Gobain’s attempt to acquire control of Sika by buying a minority shareholding from the Swiss construction chemical maker’s long-standing family owners.

From the January-February features, we look at the compact equipment sector. This is an area where exhaust emissions regulations have not had the same influence as with larger types of equipment, but where there are different dynamics at work. We discuss, among other issues, the prevalence of cross-manufacturing and OEM supply agreements between the various companies in the sector.

Finally, we take a look at this month’s equipment pages and iC’s review of the bC India exhibition, which took place in Greater Noida at the end of last year.
