In news we report on new charges levelled against 22 individuals at 11 South Korean contractors for alleged bid-rigging on the controversial Four Rivers Restoration Project.

Also in this month’s news are further woes for two of SNC-Lavalin’s former executives. Riadh Ben Aissa is set to be extradited from Switzerland to Canada to face fraud, bribery and money laundering charges. Meanwhile in Canada itself, Kevin Wallace has been charged with corruption in connection to the Padma Bridge project in Bangladesh.

Among our features this month is a look at the Middle Eastern market, with a particular focus on the current boom in Qatar. iC’s engines feature meanwhile looks at technology being employed to meet the next wave of emissions control legislation.

Finally, we look ahead to the International Construction Economic Forum (ICEF), which takes place in Amsterdam, the Netherlands form 20 – 22 November. iC’s preview looks at some of the key speakers and the projects shortlisted for awards.
