Cement producer Cemex has announced a +14% growth in net earnings for the third quarter of 2013 to US$ 467 million. Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization (EBITDA) were also up +2% during the quarter to US$ 747 million.

The company also saw a +3% growth in net sales for its third quarter 2013, with figures reaching US$ 4 billion. The cement producer attributed this to higher product prices in local currency terms and higher volumes in most regions.

Most geographical regions reported growth, with the US market seeing net sales of US$ 891 million in the third quarter of 2013, up +8% from the same period in 2012. In South, Central America and the Caribbean, Cemex saw sales jump +15% to US $596 million during the third quarter of 2013.

Meanwhile, in Northern Europe, net sales for the third quarter of 2013 increased +6% to US $1.17 billion while the Mediterranean region saw sales growth of +9% to US$ 375 million. Operations in Asia reported a +5% increase in net sales for the third quarter of 2013, to US$ 139 million.

However, Cemex did not enjoy the same fortunes in its domestic market. Sales in Mexico were down -11% to US$ 776 million, compared with US$ 875 million in Q3 2012.
