Forklift manufacturer Jungheinrich and German rental company Zeppelin Rental have agreed to co-operate in the German industrial truck rental business.

The deal will see the full spectrum of Jungheinrich’s materials handling equipment up to 9 tonnes capacity offered at Zeppelin Rental’s locations, consisting of over 120 rental outlets.

Jungheinrich said it would also undertake the complete servicing of the fleet. The companies said they both saw opportunities in the partnership to expand their activities significantly.

Zeppelin Rental chairman Wolfgang Hahnenberg said, “In Jungheinrich we have found a highly innovative partner with high-quality technology and reliable Germany-wide services.

"Through the co-operation we will offer our customers a much wider range of materials handling equipment, and are able to respond much more flexibly to their needs."

And Jungheinrich management spokesperson Frank Strasmann added, "The co-operation with Zeppelin Rental offers great opportunities for us to rent our products to customers in industries for which we have so far only limited access. In addition, we will benefit from the dense network of locations of our partner. "

Zeppelin Rental said its heavy forklifts and container handlers would continue to be provided by other manufactures in its rental programe.
