Lambertsson gets new home within Peab

Lambertsson’s crane and construction equipment rental businesses have become part of Peab’s Byggsystem division, alongside its prefabricated construction activities.

Lambertsson, which has been owned by Peab since 1992, became part of Peab Byggsystem on 1 April alongside companies including Byggelement, Smidmek and K-System. The latter specialise in the construction of prefabricated concrete and steel structures.

CEO of the expanded division is Carl Rülcker, who was already managing director of Byggelement and chairman of Smidmek and K-System.

Peab said the change would “sharpen the offer” to construction sites, creating a range of sustainable products and services, from energy solutions and crane rental to building construction and concrete prefabrication.

“This means that Peab Byggsystem brings together a complete product and service offering for the modern construction site”, said Rülcker.

“I am sure that the synergies we can now achieve will clearly benefit our customers. We must work for a more efficient, safer workplace with lower carbon dioxide emissions.”

He said it was an exciting time for Peab Byggsystem; “We build together everything that unites us and can at the same time help our customers reach their climate goals faster. I look forward to leading the work with increased cooperation between the companies.”

Lambertsson rents general construction equipment from 39 locations in Sweden and Lambertsson Kran rents mobile and tower cranes in Sweden, Norway and Finland and includes brands such as Bärarelaget, Kranor and Virtanen.

Lambertsson also owns Glacell, a specialist in solar panels and electrical charging infrastructure.

The change means that Peab Byggsystem now has 1,300 employees and a turnover of NKr4 billion (€350 million).

Peab is the one of the largest contractors in the Nordic region, with 15,000 employees and a turnover of SEK63 billion (€5.5 billion).
