Long reach from Lampson

Lampson International will use its heavy lift Transi-Lift LTL-1200 2A crane at a 76 m radius to lift a navigational lock gate replacement in Washington state, USA.

The 350 US ton (318 tonnes) lifts will take place at Lower Monumental Dam, near Lions Ferry, Washington for client Dix Corporation. Lampson will remove an existing gate and replace it with a new gate.

The Transi-Lift LTL-1200 2A will be equioped with a 340 foot (114 m) main boom at a 230 foot (76 m) radius. Some 1,400 US tons (1,270 tonnes) of counterweight will be used.

Lampson will carry out six lifts in total, with the old and new gate being lifted in and out in three seperate sections. Assembly on the Lampson Transi-Lift is underway and once complete, the job will take about three months.
