Manitowoc will open a training centre at the Manitowoc Crane Care facility in St Pierre de Chandieu, France.

The centre will offer 55 hands-on training modules, each running for between two days and seven weeks, a company spokesperson said. Training facilities include tower crane mechanisms for training purposes, a driving simulator and touch screen equipment.

Demonstration machines at the centre include one Grove mobile crane and four Potain tower cranes, including the MDT 178 and MDT 248 top slewing tower and an Igo 50 and Igo T 130 self erecting tower crane. The centre will also have a spare parts warehouse and offices for after-sales service.

Ghislaine Journay, training centre manager, said, “Our comprehensive training programmes cover every area of crane use, and this new facility will allow us to deliver those courses in the best manner possible.”
