Marcel Schrõder, technical director at Richard Liesegange, died suddenly on 15 May

It is with the greatest of regret that D&Ri carries the news of the untimely and sudden death on the 15 May 2014 of Richard Liesegang’s technical director Marcel Schroder at the age of 43.

In addition to his full time position, since 2010 he had also served as the Deutscher Abbruchverband’s board member responsible for training and professional development, European affairs and the Association’s finances. He was also an active member of the Blasting Technology Working Group, lead author of the forthcoming new edition of the DA’s technical publication “Abbrucharbeiten” (Demolition Work) and a member of the Board of Directors of the European Demolition Association (EDA).

Thanks to his exceptional commitment during his time as a Board member at the German Demolition Association, Marcel Schröder was able to make a number of important contributions to the industry, the impact of which will continue to be felt in the future.

In addition to his work with Liesegang and the DA, Marcel Schroder was also a member of the judging panel for the World Demolition Awards, succeeding Walter Werner in that position. D&Ri and his fellow judges would like to extend the greatest sympathy to his family. He will be sorely missed by all.
