Matilsa launches 21.5 m 4 x 4 x 4 boom
18 June 2008
Specialist trailer- and self-propelled boom manufacturer Matilsa launched the 21.5 m working height; 13 m outreach Parma -21D. Designated by the Zaragoza-based company as a 4 by 4 by 4 machine, the 10.5 t self-propelled, articulating, telescoping boomed platform has four wheel drive and steering, as well as four, independently operating stabilisers.
Matilsa's director of sales, Amancio Martinez, told AI that the Parma-21D is the most compact self-propelled access platform in the market. He said it will allow rental companies to deliver more effective access equipment on a trailer.
The machine, which has a Hatz engine and Sauer/Danfoss components, will be tested in the rental market over the next four months. Matilsa has construction equipment rental operations in three Spanish cities.
Mr Martinez also said that the company will release an 18 m working height model in the last quarter of this year.
Matilsa's new factory, which has been in operation since the first part of May, is said to have greatly increased the company's production capacity.
