MOBA’s new HMI operating unit for mobile applications

German controls manufacturer Mobile Automation AG (MOBA) has introduced a new range of modular operating units designed for mobile applications such as aerial work platforms.

The CAN bus-based HMI modules allow operators to choose from display, button and joystick modules according to their specifications. The unit can integrate up to six square modules.

The display module is available in black and white or as a CoDeSys colour display. It also offers three programmable softkey buttons and an encoder. An additional cover protects the display from damage.

The joystick module is available in two versions: one lockable, the other non-lockable and equipped with a railing. The joystick is interchangeable with other modules.

Each module can be controlled separately with CAN-open. The square form of the modules means that the HMI can be assembled quickly and applied both vertically and horizontally. The HMI will also work with future modules, currently being developed by MOBA.
