GAP Hire Solutions’ apprenticeship scheme continued its winning streak with success at the National Construction College Apprentice Awards 2015 for the South and London.

The company offers a range of equipment for rental to the construction, maintenance and utilities industries across the UK through eight divisions, and the awards recognise the success of apprentices in the construction industry.

Croydon Plant & Tool Hire apprentice Matthew Abbett won the Plant Mechanics Apprenticeship Award Year 1, while Neil Stannard, Reading Plant & Tool Hire apprentice, was also shortlisted in this and in the Essential Skills Award Year 1 categories.

The pair followed Colchester Plant & Tool apprentice Daniel Grimwade, who was shortlisted for the Apprentice of the Year Award at the Hire Awards of Excellence.

GAP’s head of HR Catriona Dunning said: ’I couldn’t be more delighted with our recent win and shortlisting at the National Construction College Awards. These awards are prestigious in the construction industry and demonstrate the calibre of talent we have within GAP.

“Our winning streak is absolute evidence of the quality of our apprentice scheme, which helps people break into a career in the rental industry. I would like to congratulate Matthew and Neil on their recent achievements.”
