An increase in orders means that production is being stepped up at Nooteboom and around 20 people are being recruited

Nooteboom Trailers, which manufactures equipment for abnormal road transport, is expanding following an increase in orders.

Since early in the fourth quarter of 2010 the number of orders has been increasing steadily, said the Dutch manufacturer. Nooteboom forecasts that growth will be achieved in 2011. Production is being stepped up and the number of employees will be increased. Around 20 vehicle build engineers and fitters-welders will be recruited. Royal Nooteboom Group, which includes Nooteboom Trailers, already employs around 300 people.

Improvement in the order book is attributed to rising demand in the market and the launch of innovations, for example, the MCO-PX semi low-loader. Nooteboom also said it had secured a million-dollar order from a leading international transport company for equipment that includes the latest Nooteboom transport products.

In the last couple of years since the recession took hold Nooteboom invested in innovation, according to the company. In addition, the company has reorganised its management structure.
