Name change for TowerLight UK

20 January 2015

Generac has changed the legal name of the TowerLight UK brand to Generac Mobile Products UK, and said it planned to launch a new dual Generac Towerlight brand at the Executive Hire Show in February.

Generac acquired the TowerLight UK brand in August 2013 – a deal which gave it a further outlet for its industrial products outside North America, primarily Europe, and expand its global sales of lighting towers.

It already owned Magnum Products, one of the market leading lighting tower suppliers in North America, which it acquired in October 2011.

Expansive Generac’s brand portfolio also includes mobile heater specialist Mac, which it acquired in October last year, and Pramac America, which produces and distributes portable generators and water pumps and other related products, and was also acquired last autumn.

Generac also owns Ottomotore, a generator manufacturer with factories in Mexico and Brazil that it acquired in 2012; and Baldor, a US manufacturer of stationary generators, which it acquired in 2013.

With these deals, Generac said it had transitioned from a North American generator manufacturer to a global manufacturer of generators and light towers. It added that it was committed to leveraging its global organisation to create scale with suppliers.
