UK rental firm Nationwide Platforms provided more than 80 access platforms for the construction of a new UK£150 million (US$ 240 million) dairy in Buckinghamshire.

Spanning nearly 90000 square metres, Arla Foods’ one-billion-litre fresh milk dairy will be one of the UK’s largest sites of its kind when it is completed.

Nationwide Platforms was appointed by engineering and building services firm NG Bailey to provide its services from the beginning of the project. This included selecting the most suitable access equipment, spanning heights from 3.5 m to 40 m, for work on steel erection, glazing and cladding installation, engineering and fire protection tasks.

Complementing this, Nationwide Platforms also provided products from its BlueSky range, including SkyRakPlus, a product that enables materials weighing up to 600 kg to be securely stored at height on large deck diesel scissor lifts.

Nationwide Platforms also carried out regular site visits and provided on-site training.
