The UK's Nationwide Platforms has added an 84m Ruthmann truck mounted platform to its fleet following increased demand for such a product from the UK rental market.

The new addition has joined Nationwide Platforms' Specialist Vehicle depot in Manchester from fellow Lavendon Group business Gardemann in Germany. The 84m truck mount is part of a wider growth strategy for bigger truck mounts, and joins Nationwide's existing 72m Bronto truck mount. A 70m Bronto truck mount will be added to the firm's fleet in the near future.

Already, the new 84m truck mount has been used on facilities management and utilities projects, including stadium management and power line maintenance tasks.

This is not the first time Gardemann has provided sister company Nationwide Platforms with equipment. The German powered access supplier provided Nationwide with a 101m truck mounted platform for use by a UK broadcaster for coverage of the 2011 Royal Wedding.
