NDA Convention also to see Demolition Academy

The National Demolition Association has announced that its intensive safety and management training event, the Demolition Academy, will take place immediately prior to ita 2011 Annual Convention in Las Vegas' Mirage Hotel. This Convention takes place on Saturday 5 through Tuesday 8 March, with the Academy being held on the 5 and 6 at the same venue.

March 5 will see the Demolition specific OSHA 10-Hour Certification being conducted, with optional full-day training in industrial hygiene, fall protection and demolition engineering surveying for those who have already achieved this OSHA certification.

This OSHA Certification training will continue on the Sunday, with further options of management training workshops covering a number of topics, with all courses concluding by 12.30 pm. This marks 17 years of formal training being offered by the Association to the demolition industry.

According to NDA executive director Mike Taylor, this OSHA certification: "should be an important part of every company's safety training program and is also required as part of OSHA's Disaster Site Worker Training Certification.
