New aerial lift standard open for public comment

New proposed standards for aerial work platforms (also known as MEWPs or mobile elevating work platforms) are now open for public comment. The CSA Group is accepting comments and suggested edits on B354 standards that will guide the design and safe use of AWPs/MEWPs in Canada. Interested parties have until Oct. 5 to submit comments.

The new standards are divied into three sections: design, calculations, safety requimrents and testing methods (B354.7); safety, inspection, maintenence and operation (B354.8); and driver training (B354.9).
