New Cargotec plant in Poland

Cargotec has opened a new multi-assembly unit (MAU) in Stargard Szczecinski, Poland.

The new facility is located 60km from the Baltic Sea and will produce a wide range of Cargotec cargo-handling equipment. "We are very proud of this new state-of-the-art facility that boasts the latest advances in sustainable production technology, processes and quality. For example, we have chosen a carbon dioxide neutral wood pellet heating solution for the production facility," said Mikael Mäkinen, Cargotec president and CEO.

The site was chosen for its close proximity to land and water transport routes within Europe. "The location of the facility helps reduce transportation costs and makes our operations more flexible. We can now respond even more efficiently to the rising customer demand in Central Europe," said Axel Leijonhufvud, executive Vvce president, cargotec supply.

The new MAU plays a key role in Cargotec's long-term supply strategy. "Ultimately, a competitive supply organisation based on local presence, high efficiency and flexibility supports Cargotec's vision of becoming the world's leading provider of cargo handling solutions," added Leijonhufvud.
