Andreas Klauser
Andreas Klauser has been named as the new CEO of Palfinger.
Klauser will assume the role on 1 June, moving from is current position of global brand president at Case IH and Steyr, as well as being a member of CNH Industrial’s group executive council.
He takes over from Herbert Ortner, who announced in November last year that he would not extend his contract with the company when it expired at the end of 2018. This led to him stepping down as CEO on 31 December and taking on a consultation role to the Palfinger family.
“We are pleased to have found such an experienced executive as Andreas Klauser,” said Hubert Palfinger jr., chairman of the supervisory board. “Mr Klauser has international market and sales experience in the area of agricultural machinery and commercial vehicles and satisfies all the requirements necessary to translate the future challenges of the digital transformation into sustainable corporate success for the Palfinger Group.”
Klauser successfully managed and restructured large business units in Europe and the US and maintained their profitability in a competitive market. As the COO of CNH Industrial for the EMEA region, he was responsible for the integration of 12 brands and nine units, among them Iveco, New Holland, Case IH and Steyr, in Turin. In these positions he was responsible for up to €25 billion in revenue and some 60,000 employees. Most recently, he was president of Case IH and Steyr worldwide, based in the US. He started his career in 1990 working for Steyr Landmaschinentechnik in Austria.
Klauser commented, “Palfinger is the industry’s benchmark for innovations, strategic growth and success through the proximity to its customers all over the world. Together we will tackle the next stage in our process of profitability enhancement and international growth.”
