Interviews are currently being conducted with the directors of oil services company Petrofac by the UK Serious Fraud Office (SFO).

The interviews are part of the SFO’s ongoing investigation into suspected bribery, corruption and money laundering at Petrofac, in connection with another investigation into activities at Unaoil – a Monaco-based company that provides industrial solutions to the energy sector in the Middle East, Central Asia and Africa.

In May 2017, the Petrofac’s chief operating officer, Marwan Chedid, was suspended as a result of the investigation.

Petrofac said the SFO had been interviewing its directors – including the company’s chairman and its executive and non-executive directors – as well as various other employees.

The firm said it had been working to secure new orders and to ensure the safe and reliable delivery of projects for clients, while at the same time responding to the investigation by providing the relevant documents.
