UK rental company, Platform Hire Ltd has taken delivery of 59 scissors from MEC UK. The units join a number of MEC machines already employed in the Platform Hire fleet.

Dave Williams of Platform Hire said, "We have chosen to make this significant investment in further MEC products based upon the reliability and performance of the machines we already ran. We now have customers who ask for MEC units specifically and have found the equipment to perform extremely reliably regardless of working conditions."

The machines in this order are a combination of electric slab scissors and rough terrain diesel machines and Mr Williams has already placed a further order for delivery late 2009 and early 2010. A condition of the order was that all the machines were to be delivered with all the batteries pre-treated with Thermoil additive: Platform Hire now adds Thermoil Battery De-Mister to all its fleet as standard.

Martin Davies of MEC Europe said, "We are obviously delighted that Dave and his team at Platform Hire have chosen to further invest in MEC and our products, Dave is acknowledged within the industry as someone who really knows his kit and who also doesn't pull any punches if he thinks something is not up to the job, this makes Dave's commitment even more valuable to MEC."
