Construction company Aug. Prien, based in Hamburg, is using a Sennebogen 6130 duty cycle crawler crane to work on a new subway station and building development in the German city.

The Elbbrücken quarter is part of the HafenCity project. The new station and development covers an area of approximately 3,500 square metres. Part of the project includes filling in the harbour basin. A length of 160 m will be protected against water by a mixed sheet pile wall.

The site's location meant that the Sennebogen 6130 is working from a pontoon. Work for the crawler includes installing king piles. To prevent vibrations during the procedure, ramming is not being carried out and the ground being is pre-bored, cleared and then the piles are positioned.

The crawler is powered by a 54 kW Caterpillar diesel engine and has two 250 kN freefall winches. It has a 5.5 metre broad-gauge undercarriage and a Maxcab operator cabin.
