Visitors to the International Rental Exhibition (IRE) in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, can find out more about innovative road barrier removal attachment currently being trialled by PostPullers (UK).

Stuart Archer from PostPullers (UK) said the Barrier Master was a 6ft by 6ft (1.8m by 1.8m) attachment suitable for excavators with operating weights over 8t.

Also suitable for telescopic handlers, Mr Archer said the Barrier Master could be attached with a quick hitch and featured a 10 to 12t pulling force. It can remove a motorway barrier in between 10 to 15 seconds.

“UK contractors are very interested in the Barrier Master,” Mr Archer said. “It completely removes the need for chains and ad-hoc methods of removing barriers, and also keeps the operator away and safely in the cab of the machine. There is nothing else like it on the market."

Mr Archer added that PostPullers (UK) currently manufactured and sold to the UK rental market, but was looking to expand into Europe.

IRE takes place at the Amsterdam RAI venue in the Netherlands on 24-26 June, 2014.The APEX access platform exhibition takes place in separate halls at the same venue over the same three days, as does the European Rental Association Convention.
