Power to the machine

04 February 2015

Cologne, Germany, located Max Becker Trading GmbH has been active in the scrap recycling business since 1994 and recently took delivery of a new Sennebogen 850R Special Electro, which is being used to charge the scrap metal shears as well as for general sorting duties. The 850 R Special is fitted with a 250 kW (336 hp) electric motor that yields a saving of about 50% in energy and operating costs compared to the diesel-powered machine it has replaced.

The reach of over 20 m (66 ft) easily covers an area of just under 1,300 square metres (13,994 square feet). Thanks to the stable crawler undercarriage with a 4.9 m (16 ft) track width, the machine is not only extremely safe but can also be easily moved over the entire facility. To provide the necessary overview and reach for filling the scrap shears, the cab has been raised by 5 m (16.4 ft) through the use of a pylon that, combined with the 1 m rigid cabin elevation, gives clear visibility over the working envelope.
