UK-based solar lighting tower and generator manufacturer Prolectric Services has announced the appointment of Kathryn Adams as its new commercial director.

Adams, who joined the company in 2022 from energy company Ecotricity, has previously held the positions of head of insights and head of marketing, where she was responsible for strengthening the company’s strategic direction.

In her new role, the company said she will shape the next phase of growth, with responsibility for strategic development and business innovation.

Adams will also join the Prolectric board alongside financial director Marcus Quarterman and managing director Rachel Preen.

Adams said she is delighted to take up the new position; “I’m passionate about enabling businesses to deliver on their sustainability commitments by moving away from polluting fossil fuels.

I always enjoy supporting new and existing customers to understand the full benefits of switching to solar, and to understand that it’s not just the best outcome for the environment, but it makes commercial sense too.”

Preen, added, “I have worked with Kathryn for many years, at previous company posts and Kathryn’s strategic skill set makes her perfectly positioned for this critically important role. I am truly delighted for Kathryn and her team.

“As we enter our next planned phase of company growth, our team is expertly placed and committed to providing practical and commercially viable solutions to help customers move away from fossil fuels, reduce their carbon emissions, achieve net zero goals - and save on costs.”

Founded in 1985, Prolectric is a solar first company that specialises in solar-powered lighting towers and generators. In 2011 it launched the first solar-only powered street light in the UK.

Earlier this year the company announced the opening of its first office in the US.
