Terex Cranes saw strong growth in the final quarter of the 2007 financial year, with net sales increasing by 32.1% on the same period in 2006. That amounts to US$663 million, up $161.2 million on the previous fourth quarter.

“Strong global demand for large crawler cranes and mobile telescopic cranes continues at unprecedented levels. In the North America market, rough terrain cranes continue to be in high demand, while sales of boom trucks and smaller truck cranes were down compared to the fourth quarter of 2006,” reported Terex Corporation.

Capacity limitations in terms of welding and assembly space extended leads times, as did supplier constraints, particularly in Europe, Terex added. This is reflected in the crane order backlog which stood at $2.005 billion at the end of December 2007, a 77.1% increase.
